The WSSBC's board of directors has confirmed $5,000 in funding toward the Landscape Genetics Assessment of BC and Southern Yukon Thinhorn Sheep Project! The goal of this project is to genetically map subpopulations of thinhorn sheep to create appropriate population units for management, based on biological data. It will also provide a foundation for developing estimates of true populations and harvest target setting as well as identifying critical landscape linkages and relationships between herds. It will provide important information in resource development decisions on thinhorn range.
